We believe it is our corporate responsibility to support the community within which we operate and we encourage our employees (known as associates) to be actively involved in our community. Many of our associates work with local organizations and hold volunteer board positions. The firm’s Volunteer Committee helps facilitate our associates’ involvement by providing information about volunteer opportunities and sponsoring firm-wide volunteer or fundraising events.
The company also donates thousands of dollars each year to charitable organizations and during times of great need, may launch additional initiatives to raise money for disaster relief. Recent examples include significant resources donated to the relief efforts supporting victims of 9/11, the 2004 Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. The company matching program provides for a match of donations made by any associate up to a certain amount, per fiscal year. We also provide flexibility and our associates can spend up to five hours of paid time per month on volunteer activities.
Kibble & Prentice has been recognized for its support and our community approach. Kibble & Prentice received the Workplace Award from the King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence at the Second Annual Take Action Against Domestic Violence Awards Program for its efforts over the years. Through the generous donations of financial resources as well as support for associates who have been active in supporting New Beginnings for Battered Women and their Children, a local domestic violence agency, Kibble & Prentice has been a long time supporter. Company executives and numerous associates also support the agency by donating volunteer time and resources toward services, program development and fundraising activities. We were also given the KCTS Good Works Award in recognition of the number of organization we support through volunteer and financial efforts.
We are also involved in a number of civic organizations throughout the Northwest. For example, we have been a corporate sponsor of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Eastside Business Awards for many years. We are active in Seattle, Bellevue and Bellingham Rotary Clubs, the Bellevue, Tacoma and Greater Seattle Chambers of Commerce, MIT Enterprise Forum, American Electronics Association, Associated General Contractors of Washington and the Washington Software Alliance, among others.
